DEBRA MORGAN
Debra’s first professional engagement was at the age of 9 on Y.T.V’s children’s television series Junior Showtime. She worked as a regular performer on this show until she was 13. At the age of 16 Debra went straight into the business in her hometown of Leeds. Until she was 20 she appeared as a dancer/singer for London Management in top theatre shows. Debra then moved into repertory as a member of the Theatre of Comedy. Her many stage roles include ‘Shirley’ in Shirley Valentine; ‘Rita’ in Educating Rita; ‘Faye’ in Loot; ‘Miss Hannigan’ in Annie; ‘Miss Adelaide’ in Guys and Dolls; a number of John Godber comedies; various characters in Agatha Christie plays…….and too many more to even remember! Debra ran a successful theatre company for 15 years specialising in touring to provincial theatres throughout the country. She has written over 20 pantomimes and children’s musicals which have all been professionally staged and has produced numerous Summer schools for theatres in which she would work with the theatre’s in-house team and musicians to put on a musical in a week. Debra loves working with young people and over the years has seen so many of them move into the business and have extremely successful careers. She looks forward to seeing what the future has in store for the super talented MXM stars of the future.
