Michael D. Xavier, the director and principal, brings a wealth of experience and relevant industry know-how to MX Masterclass. Nominated for a prestigious Laurence Olivier Award twice, Michael’s Musical Theatre performance history spanning over 26 years includes the leading roles in London’s West End and Broadway shows. His wealth of professional performing experience also spans other media including Shakespeare, film, and television.
Students at MX Masterclass are taught by seasoned performers currently working in theatre, television and film. Our faculty brings real-world rehearsal experience directly into the studio, ensuring training reflects the demands and expectations of today’s industry.
Our students and students’ parents often can’t believe the quality, popularity and size of the performances they get to partake in and venues they perform at.
The shows MXM work on aren’t small productions, no! Our students have performed in front of audiences 10,000-strong alongside some of the best active industry professionals from the West End and Broadway!
We believe world-class training should be accessible. Our free taster days offer a genuine insight into the quality of coaching on offer, and scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional potential. Join us and experience the MX Masterclass difference first-hand.

The MXM Culture
LOVE, RESPECT & POSITIVITY
These are the three words that best describe the ethos of MXM and the way our teachers and students conduct themselves.
LOVE – We take care of each other. We celebrate our successes and support our ‘failures’ – although Michael doesn’t believe there is such a thing as failure in performance.
RESPECT – We respect each other. Both the teachers and the students share an equal respect. There is no pecking order – we are all there to learn from the best and the teachers value how much they also learn from our students. Teachers act as mentors to guide students gently in their training. There’s no shouting in our studios!
POSITIVITY – We remain as positive as we can in our training, taking the lessons learned from each week no matter how big or small. The glass is always half full at MXM!
